I had Pan a la Catalan when I visited my aunt in Mallorca, the little island off the coast of Spain. It's what Crete and Sicilly are the Greece and Italy.
Well we had lunch at my aunt's apartment and she came out with long slice of bread with tomato that was incredible. It's one of those things you just don't for get. To this day I am always trying to recreate that experience. My current recipe is toasted italian bread with a little Duke's Mayo a razor thin slice of red onion, two slices of beef steak tomatoes and add some oregano and sweet basil and salt. Taste...HEAVEN
